If you’re living in Paris and you have friends from home visiting you, Plaza Athénée is the place where you need to take them if you want them to experience the ave and glamor of the Paris restaurant scene. It is one of those Michelin star awarded restaurants that spares no expense when it comes to quality of the food. It’s not just food where no expense is spared, overall ambiance is top notch, making the restaurant a must-see location for anyone who’s trying to impress his friends from back home.
Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athénée – top Paris restaurants #1
The only reason why I’m writing this post is because I found myself in a situation where I had a couple of friends from college from San Francisco visiting me here in Paris. They’ve never been to Paris, so I wanted to make the visit memorable for them.
Visiting Plaza Athénée certainly made the visit memorable. This restaurant is owned by Alain Ducasse, a world renowned chef that holds multiple Micheline awarded restaurants throughout Europe. Restaurant name conveniently tells us its location, Plaza Athénée, which is the naming scheme for all the restaurants in the Alain Ducasse family of restaurants. Meals at the Plaza Athénée draw inspiration from all over the world. From fruits, vegetables to different types of meat and expensive caviar. One drawback that this joint has is that getting a reservation is almost impossible. Your friends have to tell you months in advance that they are coming if you want to find a seat at the Plaza Athénée in time. But that is to be expected, considering the quality of the restaurant.
